URL QR Code FAQ

Any valid URL works — your website, landing page, YouTube video, Instagram profile, Facebook page, Google Maps location, Google Drive file, Dropbox link, booking page, or any other web address. The URL must start with https:// or http://.

Static URL QR codes (created without an account) last as long as the destination URL is live. There is no expiry on the QR code itself. If the URL ever changes or goes offline, the QR code will fail to load the page — which is why dynamic QR codes are better for long-term print use.

Technically no — QR codes can store very long URLs. However, longer URLs result in more complex QR patterns with more dots, which can be harder to scan when printed small. For long URLs, consider using a URL shortener first, or use a dynamic QR code which automatically uses a short redirect URL.

QR codes need strong contrast to scan reliably. The safest option is black QR on white background. For branded QR codes, use a dark foreground color on a light background — dark navy, dark green, or dark purple all work well. Avoid light foreground colors or dark backgrounds, as these dramatically reduce scan success rates.
