vCard QR Code FAQ

A vCard QR code encodes your contact information (name, phone, email, company, website, and address) in the standard vCard 3.0 format. When someone scans it with their phone's camera, a prompt appears to save the contact — all fields are pre-filled automatically.

iPhone (iOS 11+): Point the camera at the QR code — a contact card preview appears at the top, tap to save. Android (Android 9+): The camera app shows a save-contact prompt. Older phones may need a QR scanner app. The vast majority of smartphones in use today support this natively.

With a static QR code, the details are fixed. If you change jobs or your number, you'd need to create a new QR and reprint. With a dynamic QR code (free account required), you can point the QR to a digital vCard page that you can update any time — without reprinting.

On a standard business card (3.5" × 2"), a 1.5 cm × 1.5 cm QR code in the corner works well. Always test scan before printing in bulk. For email signatures and websites, 100×100 pixels is the minimum; 200×200 pixels or larger is recommended for clarity.

Yes — use the logo upload field to add your company logo or headshot to the center of the QR code. This keeps it scannable while making it visually branded. Upload PNG or JPG (max 2MB). The embedded image is limited to 20% of the QR area to maintain scannability.
